Hello everyone,
I've got an error "Cannot read structure data!" just after using the mesh function.
Here is the first few lines of the netgen.log:
*************
Netgen (nglib) STL Testing
number of triangles = 0
NO points= 0
calc edge data angles
Check Geometry Overlapping: overlapping triangles = 0
Successfully loaded STL File: z88.stl
mp.maxh: 5.000000
mp.fineness: 0.5
mp.secondorder: 0
Initialise the STL Geometry structure....
number of triangles = 0

Check Geometry Overlapping: overlapping triangles = 0
Start Edge Meshing....
built 0 edges with yellow angle = 30 degree
atlasminh = 1.#INF

The z88 could show the 3D model before meshing, is it normal that "number of triangles = 0" ?
Thank you!

Re: "Cannot read structure data!" just after meshing
Hello Wah,
It seems as netgen could not mesh the component. It is however difficult to say what is the cause. Have you tried tetgen? Maybe you can send us the stl file: z88aurora@uni-bayreuth.de
Kind regards
Florian

Re: "Cannot read structure data!" just after meshing
Dear Florian,
Thank you for your suggestion, I can successfully do the mesh when using another mesh method now!
Actually, I am trying to simulate a glass structure deform with 3 or 6 point support.
I don't have much knowledge on FEA and Z88, can you tell me which part of the manual / video would fit my purpose the most?
Thank you again!

Re: "Cannot read structure data!" just after meshing
Hi Wah,
my suggestion is that you start with the first example, because all other examples build on each other. The first examples are are very detailed. Here you will learn a lot of basics about the FEA.
Important videos are mesher, boundary condition, picking, material database and b8_piston video.
Unfortunately, there is no example using a glass plate.
Kind regards
Florian
