Hi dear Z88's expertise...

I need to ask several question regarding creating a node in AutoCad2007...before that, I already studied the user's manual and i have some problem to crate a model by myself. maybe I'm not understand what's the step of creating the model and the function of the Z88 modules..

Firstly, how do i start putting the node using Z88KNR on the model that i have done on the AutoCad2007?... I'm already draw a simple rectangular (10 x 50) and i didn't know how to create the node same with the examples. i hope somebody can teach me the step how to get the example model in bx_5 which is found in file z88130_32..

Secondly, what are the function of layer properties manager in AutoCad2007 which is consists of Z88GEN, Z88KNR, Z88EIO, Z88NET, Z88RBD and Z88FLA?.....and how do I connect that with the drawing that I already done?...kindly need help from the expertise... :)

Regards
Syahadah
(Newly Z88 user)

Dear Syahadah,

i guess you work with the old Z88 V13 (--> z88130_32). Download the new Z88V14 OpenSource and consult the manual: You'll find two large examples working with AutoCAD and the DXF converter Z88X.

Dear Prof Rieg,

I am really impressed that Z88_Chef willing to reply my confusion..thank you very much.. :D

FYI, I already downloaded the Z88130_32 file from the z88 website and I taught that file was Z88 V14 open source. So, where can I find the Z88 V14 file? I have done finding through the server and there are many item that i found are not related.

Sorry for giving problem to you...thanks in advance :)

Hello syahadah,

please delete your browsers cache! Then you are able to download the new Z88V14_OS version. :D

Hello syahadah,

when you look into the manual on page 106 and 107 there is a discription.
"E": Subdivision equidistant, "e" is also permitted
"L": Subdivision increasing geometrically in local coordinate direction
"l": Subdivision decreasing geometrically in local coordinate direction

Did u have any detail manual to running the simulation using Z88 v13 or Aurora??...just need the overview of the step from importing the model until getting the result..

Hello syahadah,

with Z88Aurora comes a lot of documentation. Many PDF-files and video tutorials. This is included in the download. Z88V14 has also a documentation where all the details to running a simulation be explained.

If you have any further questions do not hesitate to ask.

Hello Syahadah,

maybe you did not set any path to your media-player yet. For this purpose click on "Tools -> Options -> Paths -> Mediaplayer" an choose the player of your choice. Because the video files are .wmv we recommend to use the windows mediaplayer.

You can browse to the folder "C:\Z88AuroraV2\docu\en\Videos" with the explorer, too. There you can find all videos and start them manually.

Dear Sir,

Really need your kind help to solve my confusion...

In Z88 V13 manual also, the same page as above..I'm noticed that "7" in the string of SE 31 11 7 3 E 5 l is "Type of the finite elements to be produced by meshing". May i have somebody explanation about why we must use 7 in that case or why not we use 11 also same with the super-element type?..is that have any problem if we put our value depend on us or it must be relate with the element type?...

Thanks in advance... :)

Hello,

I guess you mention this description which was taken from z88mane.pdf from Z88V14OS (please refer for further questions to the new version Z88V14OS):

"For super elements 2-dimensional No. 7, 8, 11, 12 and 20:
SE
Element number
Super element type
Type of the finite elements to be produced by meshing Subdivision in local x direction
Type of subdivision in local x direction
Subdivision in local y direction
Type of subdivision in local y direction
Write into one line, separate each item by at least one blank.
Example: Subdivide an isoparametric Serendipity Plane Stress Element with 12 nodes (Element type 11) used as super-element into finite elements of type 7, i.e. isoparametric Serendipity Plane Stress Elements with 8 nodes (Element type 7). Subdivide in local x direction three times equidistantly and subdivide in local y direction 5 times ascending geometrically. The super element is supposed to have the number 31. Write e.g. into the middle of the element with the TEXT function: SE 31 11 7 3 E 5 L (e or E for equidistant is equivalent)"

5 L is 5 times ascending geometrically

See z88mane.pdf Z88V14OS starting from pg. 105 for a exact description of the file Z88NI.TXT for the mapped mesher Z88N which will be generated by the DXF converter Z88X.

Dear Prof Rieg..

Thank you very much for your kind replies...

Yes..I have took that description from Z88mane.pdf which Z88 V13.0A... where can I have the downloader of Z88V14OS?..in Z88 website itself, i didn't found it..I have seen the page that you mention and the manual did not show the explanation about description of the file Z88NI.TXT..Actually, I have understand about 5 L and l, but the meaning of "7" in the SE 31 11 7 3 E 5 l which I have confuse..and one thing, both Z88 Aurora V1 and V2 is based on thermal elastic theory or other?..Now, I'm still finding the solution for my understanding regarding this question that I'm asking those expert here.
FYI, I am co-supervisor of 4 undergraduate Final Year student and all of them are using this Z88 Aurora as a main software to analyze their project. So, that kind of question that I'm asking are come from them and I have to answer it..I hope you willing to answer my question and I really appreciate it... :D

Thank you very much..

Syahadah

Hello Syahadah,

7 is the resulting element type. When you will download Z88V14OS than you go to www.z88.de and use the lower choise Z88V14 OS.
