concurrent forces at Aurora V2a

Guys of Aurora Team Thanks for the new version of Aurora. I would point out a problem that remains from the previous version. I can not find how to implement two concurrent forces applied to the same node (or set of them) in order to simulate a third force whose direction does not coincide with the ...

Re: Free Meshers - Tetgen and Netgen

You're welcome Tim.

Surely through your own experience, you'll find ways for improve the NET-TET procedure. If so, don't leave of communicate them to us.

THE NETGEN / TETGEN CONNECTION

Estimated Aurora Ico, thank you very much for your interest. As the CAD tips mentioned in the other thread are related to some meshing issues, RAM availability, etc.; and all this stuff would be too long for a forum post, I preferred to put a link to the report (pdf @ 1.7MB). https://docs.google.com...

Re: Free Meshers - Tetgen and Netgen

You're welcome, Tim. Concerning the NET-TET path, while it's consistent and produce excelent final results; as pointed by Aurora Ico, there are some geometries that are not easy to be imported and meshed in Netgen Gui. I tested several STEP and IGS versions and the more accurate is IGS 5.2, but this...

Re: Free Meshers - Tetgen and Netgen

The relationship between Netgen Gui and Aurora is very easy and useful. Just get the desired mesh at NETGEN from a Step or IGS model, and then export it as STL ASCII. Open it at AURORA and mesh with TETGEN. In this way you'll get the "nice" NET pattern for quad Tetrahedra. This path lets a...

Re: How to modify high aspect ratio's of imported stl

tim.jpeg Tim, as you can see at the attached image I tried to reproduce the case that you exposed. Then I applied a particular procedure for prepare the STL file and then meshed it at Aurora's Tetgen for quadratic tetrahedrons. If that what you see at the image is what's you're looking for, I'll be...

Comments on AURORA V2

Good day AURORA Team In a general context of congratulations for AURORA V2, and recognition of your commitment to achieving excellence in the FEA software realm, let me please make some respectful observations: As announced, nodes picking has incorporated several new features but, also, evolved to a...

Re: Vernetzung importierter Körper bleibt problematisch

Dear Sebastian,

Thank you very, very much for your so interesting article. It clarifies the origin of those issues that all we, that work with CAD systems, need to deal with when communicate with clients or providers.

Re: Vernetzung importierter Körper bleibt problematisch

Hello FEMVIDI If you're checking your stp models at NETGEN, I strongly recommend you to "heal" the model with its IGES/STP DOCTOR (Menu > Geometry), and then re-export it from this soft. As NETGEN and AURORA apply the OpenCascade kernel, that what is good for the first, will be also for th...

Re: All about tetrahedron meshing

Good Day Mr Neidnicht / Hi, FEMVIDI After reading your comments I realize that I had a kind of fantasy about quadratic tetrahedrons: that that they were not as stiff as linear ones. If I understood you well, the advantage of T16 is just the greater quantity of nodes for element. In other terms that ...

Good day Mr Neidnicht

Thank you very much for your concern. After that initial report, which wasn't received, I continued my observations and added some other precisions. So it would be better if I can send you the final version.

Best regards.

Re: constraints application

Dear Tim Actually is not something so impressive as a "new meshing technique", but just a way for assure the integrity of models and manage stl files, that save a lot of time. See please my post "More about meshes" from May 8. In those days I sent a report to the Aurora Team, wit...

Re: constraints application

Tim You're right indeed about the complexity of the way for going from CAD to FEA, but concerning the meshing stage in particular, I've found a procedure that allows to get cleaner and faster quadratic tetrahedron meshes, prepared also for accurate BC application. This has had the virtue of encourag...
