unknown error

Beitrag von lotnick »

Hello.
I hope I may write in english here.
I'm novice in Z88.
Each time I try to import 3D files I get unknown ERROR.
I tried different models and filetypes.
Where should I look for problems? What should I check first?

Hello Michal,

could you be a little more specific? What filetypes are you trying to import? Are you using the import function (blue arrow) or trying to open the 3D files as a project? If you are using import, do you specify the correct filetype?

For general information on the import function, refer to chapter 6.1 in the user manual found in the program's menu bar under "Help".

I hope this helps!

I tried to
1.Create new project,
2.import files like STEP,STL.
Importing BDF is not possible at all. I cannot switch between NAS and BDF in importing window.

So I tried to start from ZERO. I opened "b1" TUTORIAL with fork wrench.
Calculation was not possible. I got :
"
opening file Z88.DYN
memory id 30 allocated
memory id 31 allocated
memory id 32 allocated
memory id 60 allocated
memory id 61 allocated
memory id 62 allocated
memory id 63 allocated
memory id 64 allocated
memory id 65 allocated
start reading function RI188I
reading Z88I1.TXT
reading coordinates
reading element information
Z88I1.TXT read, leaving reading function RI188I
start Z88AI
leaving Z88AI
vector GS needs 6855 Elemente
vector KOI needs 540 Elemente
"

I tried "almost done";-) version of this tutorial and "from DXF";-) version.

I don't know what is wrong.
Three days ago I made this exercise on other computer.

Hello Michal,

at the moment I also don't know what is wrong because there is no error in your report. Maybe you mix up the tutorial, where YOU must do additional work so can learn the FEA step by step and the examples, which run without any further work.

It's right that BDF-files can not imported at the moment. Only Nastran are available.

I think there is some problem with windows. I can give you log from windows if it helps
I got WINDOWS error when solving.
After closing XP window with error, I got Z88r error with text I enclosed already.
I reinstalled Z88. It didn't help.
I tried ready projects from examples.
I will try on other computers.

Sorry. If this is possible - this topic should be moved to "SOLVER".
Maybe I will open new topic there??

Oh I see you use the PARDISO-Solver. That can be the problem. This solver often needs very much RAM. So the calculation stop if the computer has not enough virtual memory. I advise to use a iterativ solver, this requires significantly less memory.

...but with PARDISO it works on poorer computer...

Please answer in topic in SOLVER-folder. This is not a good place.
i will make new topic there
