A question regarding node picking
Hello, I am new to FEA and started using Z88 only yesterday but I have a question regarding the picking of nodes for loads and constraints. Take the following as an example, a wine glass made from PS shown in cross-section:
and meshed:
Selecting the nodes in the 'cup' is simple enough but I am struggling to select the nodes of the contact area on the base of the stem, marked here in dark gray:

Re: A question regarding node picking
The nodes show up like this:
As you can see selecting individual nodes is impossibleas I can't tell one from the other. I was hoping that I could perhaps view the glass in a side view and select the bottom-most nodes by dragging a box with the mouse cursor but this doesn't seem to be possible. What is the best way to select these nodes?
Thanks

Re: A question regarding node picking
Just visit the Z88 website and found this screenshot:
This is exactly what I want.

Re: A question regarding node picking
Hello Sebastian
You can draw a frame with the left shift key. But then all the nodes will be selected in the frame, not only at the surface.
If the points are to big, so you can't tell one from the other, decrease the size of the pionts with the Button I mark in the lower picture.
Additional you can zoom in so you can better differentiate between two points.
Sincerely

Yeah, I finally figured that out.
That is very cool. Thanks!mz15 hat geschrieben:If the points are to big, so you can't tell one from the other, decrease the size of the pionts with the Button I mark in the lower picture.

Re: A question regarding node picking
Another question: I can select nodes by using LMB and left shift to draw a window. Is there a way to deselect them using the same method?

Re: A question regarding node picking
Yes, it is. Use the "<"-key instead of shift. If you read the user's manual, you'll find this illustrated with many pictures.
