Thanks - I did not see that bit in the theory guide. What about Z88O4.TXT ? I looked in the theory guide, and it says (on page 139): "Nodal forces first for each element, then for each node." I have run a simple shell structue through Z88 Aurora (using element number 24), and I am trying to understand the output files . For z88o2.txt, I assume U1, U2 and U3 are displacements in x, y, z. But what are U4, U5, U6? For z88o4.txt (the nodal sums for each node), I assume F1, F2 and F3 are forc...

I am implementing a simple link between SideFX Houdini and z88 Aurora - Houdini generates the txt files, executes z88r.exe, and then imports the results back into houdini to be displayed visually. None of the examples have any gravity (as defined in the first line of z88i2.txt).

I am still not sure about this...
playing around with aurora a bit more makes me think that it makes no difference
i.e. if you want z to be up, then you just make you loads in the negative z direction
can anyone confirm this?
is there anything in aurora that assumes that y must be up?

I am a bit confused about where to define the materials when working with txt files directly. (Not using the gui). 1) Do I have to put the material in z88i1.txt?
